Most of you know about the Kentucky Derby. Well one of the traditions of the Kentucky Derby is the Mint Julep! At work yesterday we were doing a segment on TV. I found this idea and wanted to re-create it for the TV segment! It is a Mint Julep Cupcake. My version is just a vanilla cupcake, but the topping decorations turned out cute! If any of you have every had a mint julep (I haven't) the top is lime vest, a mint leave and of course a green straw!

Wedding Cake Disasters
This will keep you busy for a minute!
http://photojoeblog.blogspot.com/2009/03/wedding-cake-wrecks.html
As a event planner and especially when I just did weddings I always urged my bride to order there wedding cakes from a well know professional! I did occasionally run into the homemade wedding cake, but none turned out quite this bad!!
Enjoy!

healthy?
Today a Lady called my office for a to-go order (somehow they get my number and I take the order and give it to the restaurant) and told me she wanted the sweet potato casserole without the topping??................. She then followed that statement with letting me know she was on a diet so she could not eat the brown sugar pecan topping..... (I wonder if she knows that sweet potato casserole is not even a little bit healthy for you???)
Just thought I would share with all of you!
Oh, and I think my computer has a virus on it.. HELP!

Quick Trip to Georgia!
my computer is being dumb.. I cant load any pictures from our fun weekend in Atlanta! Sorry.
Jon and I woke up Saturday morning thinking of what we should do. We had a long list of chores to do. But then I remembered that the Braves were playing that night. So we jumped in the car and drove to Atlanta! It's only 3 1/2 hours away. Not too bad. Our first stop was Ikea where we did some shopping, then the game! IT was a good game, the Braves beat the Nats 5-3. AND.. AND we got to see fireworks!! Good times had by all!!
We actually bought a 4 game season pass, so looks like we will be frequenting Atlanta a few more times this summer! YIPPIE!

Happy April Fools Day! What a great day isn't it! This day brings back many memories. My first real experience of April Fools Day was visiting my Aunt and Uncle over spring break one year. My Aunt Tammy got us kids good. She dipped our toothbrushes in Tuna Fish Juice, She switched the milk and the orange juice. She even tied off the spray hose on the sinks so when you turn on the water you get blasted! Thanks Tammy for your wonderful tricks!
Then there was Molina at Thanksgiving Point. She did some tricks to her staff~! We have Vaseline on our phones, so when we answered the phone it was sticky and greasy. The disconnected our computer mouse.. that one stumped us all!! What a trickster!!!
In 2007 Jon and I were really serious, and I knew an engagement was on it's way (well I hoped an engagement was on it's way) I remember thinking that I did NOT want to get proposed to on April fools day. LUCK LY he did not do it on April 1st.. he waited until the 2nd!!! Good guy!
Here are some funny April fools day jokes!!! I thought they were funny!
#1: The Swiss Spaghetti Harvest1957: The respected BBC news show Panorama announced that thanks to a very mild winter and the virtual elimination of the dreaded spaghetti weevil, Swiss farmers were enjoying a bumper spaghetti crop. It accompanied this announcement with footage of Swiss peasants pulling strands of spaghetti down from trees. Huge numbers of viewers were taken in. Many called the BBC wanting to know how they could grow their own spaghetti tree. To this the BBC diplomatically replied, "place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best."
#4: The Taco Liberty Bell1996: The Taco Bell Corporation announced it had bought the Liberty Bell and was renaming it the Taco Liberty Bell. Hundreds of outraged citizens called the National Historic Park in Philadelphia where the bell was housed to express their anger. Their nerves were only calmed when Taco Bell revealed, a few hours later, that it was all a practical joke. The best line of the day came when White House press secretary Mike McCurry was asked about the sale. Thinking on his feet, he responded that the Lincoln Memorial had also been sold. It would now be known, he said, as the Ford Lincoln Mercury Memorial.
#8: The Left-Handed Whopper1998: Burger King published a full page advertisement in USA Today announcing the introduction of a new item to their menu: a "Left-Handed Whopper" specially designed for the 32 million left-handed Americans. According to the advertisement, the new whopper included the same ingredients as the original Whopper (lettuce, tomato, hamburger patty, etc.), but all the condiments were rotated 180 degrees for the benefit of their left-handed customers. The following day Burger King issued a follow-up release revealing that although the Left-Handed Whopper was a hoax, thousands of customers had gone into restaurants to request the new sandwich. Simultaneously, according to the press release, "many others requested their own 'right handed' version."
Happy April Fools Day everyone.. ! Watch out!
