Christmas update, and my thoughts......

- This is my last week of work before I start maternity leave (YIPPIE!)

- I'm very excited for baby boy. I can not stop thinking about it. He moves around so he is constantly reminding me he is there ( and I think he is telling me he is ready to come out, there is not much room anymore)

- I've heard a lot of labor/birthing stories in the last week... some I have not cared to know.

- I picked out Baby Boys going home outfit! Even though we live literally 2 minutes away from the hospital, I figured he needs a really cute outfit....right?

CHRISTMAS!
Jon and I had a lovely Christmas. We slept in a little (8:00am) That's all I could take....
We opened our wonderful gifts! Santa brought me a box of cheese it's, the Michale Buble' CD, a panera gift card, candy and Lysol! It was amazing! Santa brought Jon house slippers, a iTunes gift card, a flashlight and chap stick! We enjoyed all our gifts from our families!

We had dinner with our friends the Anderson's! It was very yummy. Then we went to see Avatar in 3D.

It was a Christmas like I have never had before! We are looking forward to next Christmas with an almost 1 year old!!! Bring on the toys!

That's all for now. Hopefully I will have sometime next week to sew, and show you some great things before baby arrives. Or.... Or.. I'll have pictures of a baby to show you. I'd rather the second option... but we shall see!

It's the MOST wonderful time of the year....

The baby is almost here!!!!
I washed all of bambino's newborn baby clothes!

So it's official, we are READY! I'm definitely more ready then Jon. He is ready, but he says it's cheaper to keep him inside my belly!! (oh dear...) He is so excited to be a daddy! I have put a lot of pressure on him, well US to pick a name... That's right we still don't officially have a name for our little man. I have a long list of names I love (I've had a long time to think about it, especially while he is kicking me all night) So he is really feeling the pressure! So hopefully we will have a name by the time we are driving to the hospital. Even though I wouldn't NOT be surprised if we were driving to the hospital and still talking about names...HA!

And let's not forget the season we have upon us!
CHRISTMAS!
I got the baking bug the other day
below is my creation!
Oh so yummy!!!

Since I am, well ..will be 38 weeks pregnant on Christmas, we are spending it here in Tennessee.
We will enjoy the holiday with each other, just us... for the last time!
We will definitely miss our families, so don't have too much fun without us.

Here is our sweet Christmas tree!

Merry Christmas!

Today's Thoughts

I miss wearing my wedding ring... I haven't really been able to wear it since the end of October. I really do miss it... I can't wait to have it fit my hand again.

OH, and to have ankles again, that will be nice!

Hurry up and come baby boy! But when your ready and healthy!

I'm going to be a Mom in 4 weeks!

That sentence is so amazing! It just hit me (not that I'm having a baby) but that I'm going to be a mom.....! We went to the hospital to pre-register and I was filling out paper work for the baby, and it asked for the signature of the parent. I had to stop and think.... who is that??? They want my mom's signature?? That's weird... THEN I REALIZED I WAS THE PARENT! YIKES!

I went to the doctor today and I was sure the baby was breech, I swore the head was up in my ribs because for the past month or so there has been a round hard bump thing in my ribs. So when she checked today, she though the head was down.. I was positive it was up, so we did a quick ultra-sound and sure enough the head is down and ready to exit. Well, not really "ready" but in the right place. I'M THE READY ONE!

That's the update for now. I'm still working, Jon is still working, and we are just waiting for baby. I still have a lot of stuff on my list I want to get or do before our little man arrives. But well, they probably won't happen... I need a week to just do them. Work is super busy right now (Holiday season) So I'm working crazy hours. (That's my excuse) and well, Jon doesn't think the rest of the stuff is that "necessary" OH MEN.. what do they know!

OH and we got an official date for Jon to enter OCS, January 24th. He is very excited and ready to go. It's super close to the baby, so hopefully we (who are we kidding.. I) deliver really close to the due date so Jon can Have as much time as possible with him!

2010 is going to be Crazy, well, the next 6 week will be crazy. Here is just a little list...
- Have baby
- Figure out how to be parents
- Prepare house to put on market (sad)
- Pack
- Send Jon off for 3 months
- Me move home... maybe... still up in the air.
- Take care of baby

There is lots more, but that's all I can think of!

That is our life right now! Very exciting!

Thanksgiving was wonderful this year! My Mom, dad and little sister Jenney came in town from Maryland. It was so fun to have them here for a few days. My Aunt and Uncle and 2 cousins came over as well!!

Lindsay, Jenney and Emily
Jon cooked up a storm. He did the delicious turkey, stuffing, and cranberry compote. The rest of the feast was made by my mom and I. I really enjoyed having Thanksgiving dinner at my house. I did a simple tablescape, and I only spent $9!! I really like entertaining, I can’t wait for one day, when I can have really nice china, and table décor and really have a fabulous party! Oh, and I big pretty table! That’s what I want really bad, but I just realized, I’ll need a big pretty house to put my big pretty table in… hmmmmm this may take a while….
Me and Jenney,
I was exhausted after all the hard work...! But well worth it!
Anyways, the rest of the weekend we spent shopping and visiting with my Aunt and Uncle. It was my dad’s birthday on Thanksgiving so we celebrated on Friday with a steak dinner (at a restaurant of course!)
Saturday I spent the day with my mom and sister shopping in downtown Franklin, Oh how I love cute little towns, with lovely shops! I’m sort of obsessed with the whole atmosphere, and style of old towns. I love all the fancy shops, and all the knick knacks. Oh, and don’t forget all the cute little cafés and restaurants! YUM!
Here are a few pretty things I found while shopping!

Look how pretty!

Here is a cute picture of downtown Franklin

Then, probably the most amazing thing happened to Jenney.
We ran to Target to get a few things before my parents left on Sunday. It was around 9pm and guess who was shopping with her mom.....
Taylor Swift.

So Jenney asked her for a picture! She was very sweet, and cute!

The end of Thanksgiving Weekend!
Until next year! (I'll have an 11 month old.. how exciting!)

Honeydew

Little Bambino is now the size of a Honeydew! He is 33 weeks, and doing great. The doctor says I'm measuring a little small, so we will see how the rest of our visits go. Hopefully he will get a growth spurt and play catch up!

In other news, Jon and I (mostly Jon) are overwhelmed with getting ready for our little fella. I was telling Jon all the things we still need to get and he looked at me like I was making all this stuff up. We have been very blessed to receive lots of baby clothes from friends and family. Now it's time to get "the stuff" for baby. I was watching a show today and the baby was born at 36 weeks. I turned to Jon and said, we could deliver at 36 weeks and that is only 3 weeks away. The look of terror flashed through his eyes...!! (I will most likely go late, so no worries)

We are taking a classes at the hospital called "labor of love" we have only been once so far (it's a 4 week course, once a week) and it feels nice to learn a little about what is about to take place. I'm so excited to meet our little guy. We love him so much already. I keep dreaming about him and our new family!!!

Ok, I feel a little better about things. Sometimes I need to just write it down and that relives the stress.

Only a few more weeks (49 days) with just Jon and I!

OH, I got a flat tire in my rental car last week... boo for car troubles!

one less deer in the world.....

Yes, it's true. There is one less deer running rapid in Tennessee. Not because we went hunting but because IT RAN INTO ME!
Literally , I had just left work Tuesday night it was dusk, around 5:20pm. I called Jon as I left work and we were chit chatting. I pulled out on the street in front of my work and had gone maybe 1/4 of a mile and I hear a giant THUD! I of course screamed (in Jon's ear) and looked in my rear view mirror and see a deer tumbling. OH MY, I JUST HIT A DEER! Jon was so confused and told me to pull over. I could hear my front driver side wheel rubbing against something and it did not sound good. I pull over (it's now dark) and get out to look at my car and I can see the front fender/bummer is pretty messed up. As well as the hood of my car. I was ok. I didn't even see it coming, so I didn't swerve or even break, it literally ran into the side of my car!!!
Then the fun began. I was not sure what to do.. do you call 911 (it's not an emergency, I'm fine, but my car is not) Do I just drive home??? Jon was down in Nashville, so he finished up what he was doing and came to my rescue. I decided to call the police department and report that I had hit a deer. They said they would send someone out to do a report. SO AN HOUR LATER, a police officer showed up. He did a report, and as I was about to leave to drive home, Jon and the officer looked at my wheel and decided I couldn't drive home, the wheel was too damaged and I could not not drive home. So we had to call a tow truck. I am now driving a rental car. WHAT A PAIN.
That's my story for the week!!

I'm now in my 31st week!! I can't believe it. The time is flying. With our trip a few weeks ago, work picking up.. time is really flying! (which I love) I keep thinking about the day I'll get to hold our little boy! It is a sweet feeling (and a scarry feeling!) We are so excited!

Here I am at 31 weeks

Isn't my backyard AMAZING!

Jon and I (aww sweet love)

Pretty backyard!

There is my handsome husband.

At frist he was doing a belly shot, but then he knew I would post it, so he quickly turned and posed!
It's so pretty in Tennessee right now, I really will miss this place.
(but we are not moving for a while...)

Anchors Aweigh

Thumbnail for version as of 17:45, 27 September 2008

Ok, Ok....I know this is a rare event. Jon is actually making his own post. I know...It's about time. I figure if I'm gonna make a post, I better make it good. Well, obviously expecting our firstborn child is the epitome of exciting news. But second to that, it is finally nice to have some idea of what direction our family is moving in.

Monday Morning I received a call from Navy Recruiting District Nashville and was notified that I was professionally recommended by the U.S. Navy's Surface Warfare selection board. For those of you who didn't know of my intentions to become a U.S. Naval Officer, I have been undergoing rigorous academic testing and physical training for the last 6 months in preparation for the Officer Candidate Selection Boards. I submitted my application for commission in August and have waited anxiously until yesterday for this exciting news.

What this actually means is that pending a Navy administered physical and physical fitness assessment, I will be heading to Navy Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI sometime early in 2010. Of course, we are all hoping not too early in 2010!! OCS lasts approximately 12 weeks and is essentially considered boot camp for officers with a heavy emphasis on academics necessary for becoming a leader in the U.S. Navy. After OCS, my focus will be on surface warships, anywhere from an aircraft carrier, to a much smaller vessel that would patrol harbors.

At this point, even though there are still many question marks waiting to be answered, we are very excited about the prospects of a new career and all the adventures that will soon present themselves.

Utah Trip Part One!

We made it to Utah! We flew in Friday night, and my brother and sister and Jordan came to pick us up! I was so excited to see them!!!! We were really tired, and new we had a fun day planned Saturday so we went straight to bed!

Our first stop was to see Ashley and get our hair cut! YEAH, for hair cuts!
Next stop was Cafe Rio of course!! We meet up with my family there!

David is having so much fun at Cafe Rio!
Mary & Jordan and Laura in the background
Jon is in HEAVEN! Cafe Rio stop #1
We then went on a little walk while the boys went to go retrieve our tickets for the game.

Here I am with the Pretty Mountains behind me!
Jon enjoying the leaves! (turn computer sideways)
We went to the BYU student center to pass some time before the game (and it was raining)
Here are my sisters! (minus 1)
Before the game the Band performed for me! (ok, and the rest of the stadium)
Jon and Laura so excited for the game to start!
I love the Mountains.. you can see the snow on top!
This is the picture to document that I was there.
BYU lost (boo) and we needed a pick me up, so we all went out for Pizza after the game!
Sunday we sent some time together before Mary, Jordan and Laura had to drive back to rexburg. Here is the "Kids" picture of us all together!
Ha, We did Pregnant prom pictures (we thought it was funny) Mainly my dad thought it was funny!
Then Mary and Jordan had to do one too..

The weekend was fun to see my family. I'm not sure when I will see my sisters and brother again?? I can't travel home for Christmas, because I'll be 38 weeks pregnant. And then they will go off to school for the winter semester. So it was so great to see them and spend time together!

We are staying with Jon's sister Liz and her family! Jon and I are babysitting Kaitlyn this morning (this is a real time blog post) and I wanted to get Kaitlyn dressed, and put a bow in her hair. She didn't let me get a cute smiley picture (she now runs away from the camera) but you can still see how cute she is!!

(Why are you taking my picture??)
and well, you can't see it, but it JUST started to snow. It is now a blizzard outside! Hurray for vacations!

That's what we have been up to the last 4 days! More to come.....

Whats new??!!

Things have been a little busy over here! But that's GOOD. We had a crazy weekend, and well week. First off, Jon called me Wednesday (the 7th) while I was at work and our conversation went something like this

Jon: Hey
Ca: Hi, whats up
Jon: Just wanted to let you know we don't have cable or Internet at home.
Ca: uhh?? What do you mean?
Jon: Well, I'll explain latter, but I canceled it..............

Long story, Jon and comcast got in a disagreement and well.. we went without cable or Internet for a week. (which wasn't that bad.. I got a lot done, My house was clean all week)

But we now have it, but not with comcast...

So now that that is out of the way. Here is me at 26 weeks ( I think, I took it a while ago, and forgot to post it)

So, since we didn't have TV at home, we found ourselves just hanging around Nashville Saturday night. Funny story, we ended up backstage at the Grand Ole' Opry! It just so happened to be the 84th birthday of the Opry and Diamond Rio was part of the show that night. We are friends with some of the band members, and we just happened to be back stage for the show! Actually what really happened was David Archeuletta was in town and needed a ride to the Grand Ole' Opry. So we got to be his shuttle for the night! That was fun. He is so cute and smiley! He was singing in the car, and having a good time! Very nice kid! So that's how we ended up backstage!!! It was very fun.

I spotted the Giant Cake backstage (no, no one jumped out of it)

Our View from Backstage!

Grand Ole Opry all lite up!

Diamond Rio taking pictures with Dalila (the radio girl, that is on.. you know..)

There is David!
I didn't want to get a picture with just him, because all the 12 year olds were asking for his picture.. actually that is not true, I saw a lot of older women asking for his pictures as well. But I was the cool "friend" with him that night! So this is all I got!

Then Sunday Night, we had a Fireside at our House. Jon and I were ask to speak to the Youth on Dating and marriage!
So I had to make pretty cupcakes.
(remember I love Fall)

That's what is new with us! We leave for Utah in 9 days and I am so excited!!!!!
I went to the Doctor on Friday and Monday and the baby is 2lbs 6oz!
He is breached right now (but he should have time to turn right.. I have 12 more weeks!)
But his head is in my rib cage, and man it hurts!!! It's like he is stretching out in there, having a good time...
