I have discovered I have many new talents now that I am a mom! Most of them include doing things one handed, and left handed at that! The other day I went to the grocery store, as we were checking out I realized that everything I got in the car (with the baby carrier) I was not going to be able to get back into the cart with the carrier. So I took the Baby out and put the groceries in the buggy. Then I very gracefully pushed the buggy, carried the baby carrier and steered all while successfully not dropping ANYTHING! I was very impressed with myself.
I have also learned how to eat left handed while holding the baby. I can now do my makeup while holding the baby (not mascara, that's a little too hard), put shoes on and even empty the dishwasher. I like to pat myself on the back!
Jonathan is 2 1/2 months old. He is 11 weeks, and I can't believe it has been that long. He is getting big, and so fun! He smiles all the time. He loves the morning time, that is when he is the happiest! He likes to suck on his fist, and is holding his head up.
Jon is doing very well at school ! He has 3 1/2 weeks left and I am counting down every day (23 from today) I am so proud of him for doing so well. This week is Finals week. On his mid-terms he got 2 100% and a few 90%. He said he hasn't done that well in school since elementary school. (me either)
Next week they are Candio's. Which means they are the ones running the programs, and they are the next class to graduate. They all get Jobs that they are in charge of. This week they are learning there job, and then next they are on there own to complete there job successfully. They don't get much instruction, they have to figure it out for themselves. Jon says this is the stage they get the least sleep because they are up making sure everything they need to get done, is done correct. If not, they don't graduate.
Here is a little piece of Jons email from last week:
Last week was also interesting to see how our class team is attempting to mess with us in all sorts of ways to test our ability to adapt and follow orders. Tuesday, as we were heading in the chow hall for lunch, we were entering in in our usual manner. This entails stomping on the metal door threshold while counting which number you are in the line. This is how we were intructed to do it from day 1. Well, no sooner did we realize that we were being screemed at and forced back out of the chow hall. Our drill instructor flies out of the door and points over to the grass and say's "get in my grass." so we all get in the grass avoiding as best we can all the mud that has been created from the last 3 days of rain. Once he sees us trying to avoid the mud he screams out "Bull@$%#, fill it in!" So as you can imagine, it went down hill from there. First we put us on our backs in the mud, doing leg raises, and then on our faces. The next order had everyone confused. While we were in the pushup position he yells outs, "Get your hands and elbows and feet off the ground!" At that point we were all kinda like, "what the heck is he talking about? How does he expect us to get our hands and feet off the ground and still do pushups?" But of course, he didn't mean to do pushups, he meant to have lay face down in the mud. Awesome!! So as you can see, his intention was not really to make us do pushups, all of this was just to create confusion and make us uncomfortable and see how we handled it. It's obvious when you consider how they change the rules on us without warning and expect us to have known it all along.
I can not wait to go up to Newport to go see Jon! I am flying up with the baby and I am so excited! I hope these next few weeks go fast!

2 month update

Jonathan went to his 2 month check up yesterday ( March 5th) He was exactly 2 months old!
Here are his stats
Weight:10 lbs 11 oz
Height: 22 inches
Head Circumference: 50% (I can't remember the exact measurement)
Cuteness: 150% (off the charts!)
So he is growing! That is good, I was a little worried he wasn't getting that big.
He does a lot of "cooing" and little smiles. He is awake more, and is alert! He is so fun, and cuddly! I can't believe 2 months ago, he was put in my arms. I love him so much!
Jon update: I spoke with him for 5 minutes yesterday! He is doing good, he sounded really good. I asked if he was healthy and he said he was and felt good (he was sick 2 weeks ago). He passed all of his test this week. He had 2 academic, and then the ORLP (which is an inspection of his room, and uniforms. They are also quizzed while the officer is doing the inspection) He said he was really nervous for the ORLP, mainly the quizzing part. But he said he did fine, they asked him everything he new! They are mainly focusing on academics right now.
He is half way done! 6 weeks down! I miss him terribly, but I am so proud of him. He is doing very well in such a hard program.
