Jon has employment!

Thought it may not seem like much, Jon now has a part-time gig working at peermusic, which in all reality is a HUGE deal. The details of his job hasn't been explained yet, but he'll most likely be doing clerical work to lessen the burden on other key officials in the Nashville branch.

One thing that he's very excited about is that he's been given the OK to pitch songs from peer's catalog. This is a great opportunity for Jon to make a lot of business contacts in the music industry using the company's name to pave the way. Jon is pretty stoked!

Nashville, TN

Ok, Ok, OK after talking with Liz (Jon's sister) yesterday she reminded me how fun it was to blog and since we just moved people need to know what were doing. So here I am hopefully going to become a great blogger!

But I have a confession why I haven't blogged in so long. When I started back in October I was very excited and started my blog at work. But when I got home I couldn't do anything. I wanted to load all these pictures, but no... nothing. So I was very discouraged and just thought maybe blogging wasn't for me. But I want everyone to know I'm back on the horse (the blogging horse that is) so here it goes!

Well as most of you know Jon recently graduated from BYU in December. He walked in August but had to take 1 class in the fall to receive his diploma. As most of you also know Jon is a music guy. He is very passionate about it, loves being a sound technician. Well Late November I sent him out to Nashville to look for a job. He wanted to move there to begin his career and me being the responsible, like to play it safe a little bit kind of person, I sent him to Nashville for a few days to look for a job. Well he had a great trip and ran into a lot of contacts, but no one offered him a job right there on the spot.

So a few weeks go by and we are trying to figure out what Jon is going to do once he graduates. Do we stay in Utah and I continue working and he does freelance work?? OR, OR do we pack up all our stuff and MOVE to Tennessee. Well, and you can see we pick option #2.

We left Utah on January 2nd. I quit my job, which I was very sad to do, but very excited to start our new life in Nashville! My dad came out to help us drive our 2 cars out. We made it to Nashville in 2 days. YES I said 2 days. If you do the math that is 2, 14 hour days in the car... YUCK! but we did it. We arrived in Murfreesboro, TN on January 4th (the anniversary of my famous car accident last year) at my aunt and uncle's house and stayed the night. The next morning we got up and drove to Maryland. We wanted to see our families! So another 10 hour drive to MD was well worth it. We were there for about 6 days. Part of that trip Jon took me up the Connecticut to see his old stomping grounds!

Then we made our way back to Nashville to begin our adventure! So here we are, living with Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Tammy and their 2 girls. Looking for jobs. I am looking for a job like I had in Utah, doing event planning. Jon is of course looking for something in the Music Business!

We've been here 2 weeks, and we love it. I'll keep everyone posted on our progress!
